Production: Yummy®beaut sets on spurs that have to be established with age. When the tree is young, it tends to bloom and set on the tips, so summer pruning following harvest is recommended to force fruiting spurs. |
NOTE: A purple plum that ripens in the Black Beaut time slot with excellent attributes, including flavor, firmness, shape, crack resistance, and large size (even better than we thought). The blossom produces an abundance of pollen and is very enticing to bees, but the variety sets better on spurs which take time to establish. Every tree should be spiked with 26P575 as good insurance for wet years. |
